Submission outside the above reading period will not be read.

Simultaneous Submissions
Simultaneous submissions are allowed, please withdraw your work if it is accepted elsewhere.
Cover Letter
Include a cover letter in the text of your email. Optional: If you also attach your cover letter as a PDF, save the filename as AUTHORLASTNAME_AUTHORFIRSTNAME.
Include your name and contact information.
If any portion of the work has been previously published, state where and when (magazine, blog, Instagram, etc.).
Include a biographical statement.
If Artificial Intelligence was used, explain how it was used.
Manuscript
Submit your fiction, cross-genre, hybrid, experimental, or drama between 3,000 and 7,501 words as a PDF.
The word count is a general guideline. If you believe your manuscript is a coherent chapbooks, you may submit over or under the word count. This applies in particular to chapbooks that are experimental or contain micro stories and/or flash fiction stories when the total word count is below 3,000 words.
Include word count.
If your chapbooks contains sections, include a table of contents at the beginning. This does not count toward your word count.
Please use a standard serif typeface such as Times New Roman or Garamond, size 12.
Do NOT include your name, acknowledgements, or any identifying details (address, social media handles, etc) anywhere in your manuscript. If your name appears in text, please redact it with [AUTHOR NAME].
Decision
After the reading period closes, do not query for at least 9 months.
If you do not hear from us within 12 months after the reading period closes, query us.
The decisions are at the complete discretion of Henlopen Press. There is no judge. The editor(s) will select any manuscript(s) to be published.

Rights
You keep the copyright to your work. We do not take the copyright.
You provide us with First Rights.
You have the right to develop your work into a full length book, and have the expanded full length published elsewhere while we continue to publish the chapbook.

We provide two free author copies.
We provide additional copies at a 60% discount.
